Surgical Steel Collins Speculum
Collins speculum's are a little different to other speculums in that they pivot outwards, this makes them easier to keep inserted than other speculums.
The Collins speculum is a much newer design and is more suited, if more access and a better view is required. This speculum seems to be preferred by women, being more comfortable as it has flatter and wider blades.
It stretches the vaginal walls more gently. The Collins speculum has a very simple mechanism; just one wing screw opens the blades parallel as it opens the vagina deep inside, but opens the opening wide too.
Another advantage is, that it leaves the upper part open with clitoris and pee hole in full unobstructed view. This would definitely benefit catheter play, stretching urethra or some other pee hole play or simply peeing.
Once the speculum is fitted and you start to wind the pivot open it generally opens the cavity inside rather than the opening so as you wind the speculum wider it opens the cavity wider, it is this that keeps it in place.
This speculum is a favourite for the connoisseur as it is generally safer to use if both the vagina and anus are being fitted at the same time with speculums as the Collins speculum opens horizontally not vertically so as not to risk causing damage or injury to the delicate layer of skin (ischial tuberosities) separating the vagina and anus.
This is usually better for medical examinations rather than stretching of the opening.
Measures approx: 12CM long and 8CM at its widest opening.
