Japanese Cloverleaf Clamps

An old favourite on the Bondage scene, the Japanese or cloverleaf clamps are based on a very old building technology similar to something called the Lewis irons. On much of the old architecture distinctive cuttings for both lifting tongs and lewis irons appear on stone blocks.

The stone block had a cutting carved into each side so that a clamp could be attached, the clamp was designed in such a way that as it was lifted it clamped the stone block harder, it was then winched into place.

Some of you may be thinking what's all this got to do with some nipple clamps, the Japanese clamps work in exactly the same way. If you pull on them or add weights they simply clamp tighter.
