Our wand kit contains:
- One violet wand generator - Foot switch (included with kit, under top foam in case) controlled for hands free operation. Especially good with the contact pad.
- One Edison base adapter (spark gap isolated) .
- Two globes - One large, one small.
- One wartenberg pin-wheel.
- One bead chain whip.
- One contact pad - Solid stainless steel pad (no aluminium foil used). Note the spark gap isolator plug. This insulates you from line voltage in case of malfunction. Also note that bead chain is used instead of wire. This is an important safety feature. Never substitute wire for the bead chain. .
- Three blown glass attachments (rake, probe, mushroom). These attachments glow red/orange.
- One finger stinger - Put on your finger and really zap someone.
- One custom fitted case, lockable latches, airline approved.
- One UK to US 110volt Adapter.
All of our violet wand kits are intended for experienced individuals. They are not entry level wands. Our ceramic core generators bear our name and are designed to run for very long periods. Violet wands manufactured for the cosmetic industry generally have wax cores and will melt if run more than a few minutes. We believe your wand should last as long as your scene does and we have designed our wand kit accordingly. Additionally, all of our attachments incorporate some form of spark gap isolation. This is a safety feature that insulates you from the line voltage should a malfunction occur.

Technical Information
THE GENERATOR
The wand generator is constructed of phenolic (Bakelite) plastic. This plastic has the property of being a better insulator than most other plastics and that is why it is used. It is also hard and somewhat brittle. Be careful when handling the wand. Do not drop it. At the base is the adjustment knob. Use it to adjust the intensity of the wand. Do not insert attachments into the nozzle with any force beyond what is required to hold the attachment barely in place. Too much insertion pressure will lead to detachment of the base from the electrodes, springing out of the socket so it no longer will hold electrodes or both.
THE FOOT PEDAL
The foot pedal switches the wand on and off. It also allows hands free control of the wand when using the contact pad. Because the pedal is grounded, it should not be used with bare feet. If you need to use it with bare feet we suggest laying a heavy piece of leather or rubber over it. Fabric will not do since stray current tram the wands output will still penetrate it.
THE BLOWN GLASS ELECTRODES
These are inserted into the end of the wand. They should glow a faint purple colour when the wand is activated. This purple colour may not be visible in bright light or sunlight. If the attachments do not glow turn up the wand to its maximum level. Allow to remain on for 30 - 60 seconds. If the attachment does not glow after this then you should return it to your dealer.
THE GLOBES AND EDISON BASE ADAPTER
The globes are connected to the wand with the Edison base adapter. They provide a lot of visual appeal. You will find that you can get very different effects depending on the globe used.
THE CONTACT PAD
The body contact pad is used to turn the users body into the electrode.
THE PINWHEEL
The pinwheel is used in conjunction with the body contact pad.
How the Violet Wand functions:
The violet wand is basically a modified Tesla coil. What a Tesla coil is, how it functions and how the violet wand differs from it is the subject of this section.
A Tesla coil is a device that uses resonance to boost an electrical signal to many times its original amplitude. The circuitry times the pulses of current so that they reinforce and build on each other, boosting the output. Imagine a swing. If you push on the swing randomly the swing will swing chaotically, never going much higher than a certain level. However, if you time your pushes just right, the swing will climb ever higher. You have determined the "resonance" often swing. That's the basic principle behind a Tesla coil: keep sending out electrical pulses, at the resonant frequency, in one section of the circuit, to induce the other section of the circuit to ever higher potentials.
